ERP planning, 3 common questions for erp, key questions for erp, erp implementation support, frustration

Learning the A, B, C’s of Your Organization.

There are certain personality traits that we identify with.   Type ‘A’ is usually defined as the leader that possesses the dominant take-charge attitude. Typically, they initiate fast-paced change and dictates any directions or decisions.  Along with the good comes stubbornness, intolerance, impatience, short-fused, and a workaholic attitude.   Looking at the ‘B’  type of person we usually see the motivator, friendly, people-oriented, persuasive, and self-confident individual.  The flip side can bring out procrastination, impulsiveness, short attention span, and sometimes unrealistic and self-involved characteristics.   While these are the two most common categories of traits, like everything else there’s more.  Type ‘C’ traits are generalized as dependable, detailed, organized, analytical, and intelligent critical thinkers.  On the other hand,  type ‘C’ can often appear unsocial, likes things done their way, and skeptical. The final trait we’re going to look at is type ‘D’.  Type ‘D’ strengths are low-key, sincere, stable, trusting, consistent and good at routines or competitive tasks.  Weaknesses can be shy, uncomfortable with constant change, less assertive, and a follower even when they don’t agree.

Not defined by a single trait we usually are a composite of all of them.   So too is an organization.  Looking at the positive traits in all categories we would like to be goal-oriented, enthusiastic, outgoing team players that perform well under stress.  Being enthusiastic, prepared, and logical is certainly beneficial.  While we would all like to only have these positive traits, usually that’s not the case.  Organizations can also struggle with finding a balance to maximize the positive and minimizing things that can hinder growth.  We need to begin with the end in mind and focus on the objective goals that make your organization better than the competition.

So how do we get there?  Being complaisant and thinking that ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ is probably not the best business strategy.   Or merely being satisfied with the status quo simply because that’s the way things have always been done. If that sounds familiar it’s time to look outside that negative ‘C’ trait that controls our comfort zone.  We need to ask ourselves can we exceed our customers’ expectations or at minimum deliver consistent measurable results?  And is that enough?  Utilizing time-proven business practices, solid substantiated solutions to manager ERP needs, and establishing business partnerships with professionals that have measured success in your industry will prepare your organization’s future direction.

When life is going well it’s easy to see the focus on the positive and more likely to ignore the imperfect, but when the tide turns the baggage of negative thinking,  impatient expectations, impulsive decisions, and reluctance to change gets magnified.  Might be time to change from reactive to proactive and change from passive to forward-thinking.  Information and facts don’t lie.  Are you getting everything you need from your current ERP solution and support partnerships?  It could be time for the type ‘A’ part of your organization to take charge and carve out a new direction and approach.  Gather up your analytical, self-confident, and dependable instincts and trust proven solutions for your industry and organizations.  Time-proven solutions and partnerships are literally at your fingertips.  Take charge, stop procrastinating and carve out that new direction!
